The Canary Islands are political belongs to Spain, geographical they are located near by North Africa. Lanzarote is well known for it's marvellous landscape. So the Parque Natural del Volcano offers many volcanos. This volcanos are relatively young, the main eruption has startet in year 1730 and has raged for 6 long years. During this time 11 villages where distroyed and buried from the volcanic activities. So this area is absolutely unique in Europe.
The west part of Lanzarote is very rough, big waves from the open Atlantic rolling allways against the coast, which is filled there with many lavafields. At the south coast you will find the marvellous Papagayo Beach with the clear sandy beaches.
The most famous artist of Lanzarote was Caesar Manrique, he has created some beutiful landmarks.
But beware - Lanzarote is not only a beutiful island, the volcanic landscape is also a memorial for the humanity. Our world need no more natural catastrophes - so please support "save the planet".
