The green island for marvellous trekking tours
The Canary Islands are political belongs to Spain, geographical they are located near by North Africa.
La Gomera is well known for it's marvellous landscape and trekking tours. The island is splitted into two different zones. The north part is very green, because here it is allways windy with big clouds which are rolling over the island and they spend some wetness to the plants.
The south part of the island is very dry and sunny.
The journey to La Gomera is quiet easy. The best way is a 40 minutes drive with one of the ferryboats from Los Christianos ( Tenerife ) to San Sebastian or directly to the Valle Gran Rey. Two companies offer this ferryboat-service: Fred Olsen Line or Armas.
The distance from San Sebastian to Valle Gran Rey via GM2 + GM1 is 50 km; driving time by car is round about 75 minutes. My experience with Fred Olsen: if you buy an online-ticket for the ferryboat in advance you can drive directly to the car shuttle service. In this case for enter the ferry you will need only a valid passport from all passengers and a copy from the online-ticket.
